Established in 1979, Mount Barker Waldorf School is situated in beautiful grounds in a peaceful setting on the outskirts of Mount Barker in the Adelaide Hills, a 40 minute drive from the CBD. With a young population Mount Barker is the fastest growing municipality in South Australia and one of the fastest growing in Australia.

Our school operates over all year levels from Early Childhood to Year 12 and offers a unique education based on Rudolf Steiner’s philosophy of education. The school’s highest endeavour is to provide a transforming education which engenders a capacity for free ethical action, through clarity of thinking, refinement of feeling and strength of will.

High School Maths and Science Position starting Term 1 2027

Are you ready to inspire young people through the wonders of Maths and Science?

Mount Barker Waldorf School is seeking a dedicated and experienced High School Teacher to teach Mathematics and Science (primarily Physics) from Term 1, 2027. This is a unique opportunity to work with adolescents at a pivotal stage of their development, guiding them not only in subject knowledge but also in critical thinking, curiosity, and self-discovery.

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • A passion for engaging adolescents in Maths and Science through creativity, rigour, and imagination
  • An understanding of Steiner pedagogy and how it supports the healthy development of young people, or a willingness to be mentored
  • A collaborative, flexible, and reflective approach to teaching
  • An openness to new ideas and the ability to take initiative
  • Experience in pastoral care or student wellbeing (desirable)
