School Fee Schedule  Scroll down for Fee Calculator

Children are enrolled at Mount Barker Waldorf School on the understanding that parents commit to pay all fees when they are due. We seek to keep fees as low as economically possible and therefore we ask that fees are paid by the due dates.

Tuition Fee, Curriculum Fee & Property Improvement Levy

The Mount Barker Waldorf School annually reviews tuition fees covering the common costs for the tuition of students.

The fees include excursions, healthy catering for the Kindy program, extensive outdoor education camps (Class 3-12), insurance, high quality stationery (Primary School), Strings Program (Classes 3-7), Recorder Music Program (Classes 1 & 3), swimming lessons (Primary), school supplied laptops (classes 7-10), First Aid Certificate (Class 10), and SCUBA (Padi) Licence (Class 12).

The school has a Property Improvement Levy of $220/student (capped at $500/family) for capital building development at the school. The focus has been on improving the carpark bitumen over the last few years so all families can benefit from the capital improvement.

The school needs to ensure that it is in a viable and sustainable financial situation for now and the future, so we can continue to grow and offer quality Waldorf Education for our students.

Application Fee & Enrolment Fee

A non-refundable application fee of $70 (GST incl) per child or $110 per family is required to place a student on the waiting list.  A non-refundable enrolment fee is required to be paid on acceptance of an offer of a position to confirm enrolment. The enrolment fee of $375 per child is payable within two weeks of the offer of enrolment.

State Government School Card

Families who believe they qualify for State Government School Card must complete the appropriate application form each year as early as possible in the school year.

Application forms are generally available from early January via SA.GOV.AU. Forms are to be submitted as per the instructions on the applicable form.

School fees will be invoiced at the full rate until official notification of eligibility is received by the school, and then the school will apply the School Card Discount.

Eligible families will receive a fee remission of $300 per child per term which is applied to the families’ account.  The school is not responsible for determining the payment requirements for separated families if one parent/caregiver is eligible and the other is not.

Bursaries/Fee Remission

Financial assistance is available on a limited basis in the form of a Bursary.  A Bursary is a special discount that is based on financial hardship above and beyond that of the School Card Discount for families who find themselves in a situation where they are experiencing financial hardship.  Application forms are available from the school and the bursary is given per school year.

Applications for a bursary/fee remission are due by the end of March 2026.  If circumstances change throughout the year an application can be submitted and will be assessed.

Non-payment of current fees by the end of the year

Every effort must be made by families to pay all the fees by November 2026. If there is a risk of not being able to pay the balance, the onus is on the parents to notify the Business Manager and to discuss special arrangements. Outstanding fees can result in cancellation of enrolments. All outstanding fees are processed as per the school’s Debtors Policy.

Departures

Parents/Caregivers wishing to withdraw a child from the school must give a minimum of one full term’s notice in writing. Notice given during a term will be charged one term’s fees in lieu of notice.

Please note that terms and conditions apply. If you would like to view these, please contact the front office via office@mbws.sa.edu.au or 08 8391 0411.
